Nov 14th 2009 – this date should make it into our children’s history books. Martinez was on a North America Tour and his last stop – Toronto. When he walked into the mekka for sound check the words fell out of his mouth “it looks like a living room”…we like to think of it us welcoming him to our techno home…and that home was packed at 1:30am just couple of hours later in a rather true “house party” style. James Teej and Hali played a back to back set that was as beautiful as the trees in high park during cherry blossom and set the energy right for Martinez to show us what he does best, and that he did from 3:30am to shortly before 9:00am. A set from out of this world. 6 hours long and he would have been able to have people stick around until 4 pm or so. Probably the fastest mixing we have seen, fantastic sound which opened a lot of people’s ears and music that moved everyone for hours on end…
